Our Priorities
Boost Local Economy
Progress for Bloomfield means optimizing the town’s sources of revenue. This includes prioritizing small business development, demanding developers to pay their fair share of taxes, addressing decrepit properties that shift the value of our neighborhoods, and continuously strategizing so residents choose to spend their time and money locally.
Restore Public Trust
Progress for Bloomfield means electing officials that actually represent the best interests of all people, not just the people in power. Effective leaders are resident-centered, welcome real dialogue with their constituents, communicate openly and honestly, respond promptly and meaningfully to emails, welcome and implement feedback, and enact change that aligns with residents’ needs.
Dismantle Structural Racism
Progress for Bloomfield means prioritizing policies and plans that support people from marginalized communities to feel safe and welcome. In order to lift up - and not tokenize - our diverse population, we must increase cultural responsiveness, maintain ADA-compliant sidewalks and streets, proactively protect immigrants, acknowledge instances of discrimination and dismantle the systems that enable them.
